If you had to have your vision corrected would you rather: glasses or contacts? Or what do you use if you need to have your vision corrected? OMG, glasses all the way. I tried contacts once and it was a nightmare. I can’t do them. I know some people love them, but no way for me. I’ve been wearing glasses since sixth grade and I have no problems with them. Give me glasses over contact lenses any day of the week.
Are you more of a dog person or a cat person? I like them both equally. I’ve always had both whenever I’ve had pets. I don’t prefer one over the other, because they both have their strengths and weaknesses. Right now, we have three dogs and one cat. Douglas is allergic to cats, so we may not get another when Mister passes on. Maybe. He seems to do okay with Mister. This is the most dogs I’ve ever had at one time. We got the bigger dog, Brandy first, but she was at the very least neglected by her previous owner and very shy and nervous, so we got Cocoa to help her out because dogs are pack animals and they need the social structure. And he did help her out, she’s come a long way from the cowering, shivering dog we rescued from the shelter. Cocoa is a pretty chill dog, but Brandy can be a little rough when she plays with him, so we got Poptart to kind of even out the hierarchy. Poptart is a little Chihuahua mix and he’s a feisty someone. He and Brandy spent many months playing “king of the hill” before everything settled down, but it’s all good now. Mister just wants to know when these obnoxious dogs are gonna leave his domain. =^_^=
If you were to buy a new house/apartment what is the top three items on your wish list?
We’re not gonna buy a new house, but we’re gonna tear this one down and rebuild it someday. The top three things that I want are these. It must have a basement… no more of this crawlspace bullshit. I hate crawlspaces. They’re stupid and annoying. Give me a proper basement that I can put stuff down inside — even if it’s in plastic bins (in case of flooding because we are in the 100 year floodplain). And– this ties in with the basement — an attic would be nice too. With windows and dormers for air control because we’re not putting AC in this house. And I want a place to store stuff, and a nice, roomy area for workmen to get to the electricity or other things if they need to. Again, no crawlspaces. Seriously.
Next, I want a porch, patio, whatever. Two actually… one in the front that runs the length of the house and one in the back that runs the length of the house. And we’re talking covered here — not some open deck. A good, old fashioned covered porch. I want to be able to keep my windows open every day of the year if I want to and not worry about the rain getting in the windows. I want to be able to sit out on my porch and do my needlework (knit, crochet, whatever) or even bring my laptop outside and not have to worry about the weather.
I’d also like a garage so we can stop parking our cars outside. Right now, my car is covered with pollen, and it’s really making me twitch. It does no good to wash it because it’ll just be covered again in a couple of days. If not a full out garage, then at least a solid carport with direct access to the house. I can deal with that.
