Interesting article

I ran across this article today that y’all might find interesting.  It’s long, but worth the read.  What’s interesting, is I can “share” this on facebook, Pinterest, and even Twitter, but not here… Weird.  I used to have that “Press it” button for WordPress, but it hardly ever worked, Ha! Anyway, the article is interesting.  I dunno if I agree with everything the author says, but you tell me…

It is interesting. It also REALLY needed a good editing. About 50% too long, but some rally great lines in it. My Press It button still works, but you have to monkey with it to make it show what you want it to show, otherwise mine just shows the headline and a jump, in which case you might just as well use a link. And the reblog button is totally screwed up.

Yes, there’s a lot wrong with America, but there’s a lot wrong with the human species and the whole damn world. I am beginning to find myself restless and a bit annoyed by people who seem to be just discovering this great truth. But he did have some really GREAT lines.

You’re right, it definitely needed editing, and that’s me saying that. 🙂 I have faith in the human species as a whole… it’s individual people I have difficulties with.

Interesting read — didn’t know preppers have conventions.

I keep a bug out bag… but we also get hurricanes here.

Mostly I have clothes, socks, some canned food, a metal bowl, three ways to make fire, water purification tablets… notebook, pens and pencils.

I promise I’m not crazy, but with all the insane shit going on these days, can’t be too prepared… well maybe you can. That survival cache thing was a bit much. Some of these prepper folks sound like they’re loaded, honestly. Able to afford the good shit.

We essentially hunkered down before the hurricane last year. But I was woefully unprepared. Like — get cash out. Cash is amazing and wonderful, especially when there’s no power.

Get a grill — because grilled meat is awesome and grills don’t require electricity.

        Get canned shit.

        Bottled water.

Like… I came out of walmart the night before with like a flash light…. and batteries… and tea light candles.

I did, however, fill my bath tub up.

We have about a week’s worth of water in bottles. We could probably stretch it further. We also have a bunch of water that’s non potable for things like washing &c… And we have hurricane lanterns for light, and all kinds of flashlights. I want to get some MRE’s but they’re pricey.
