Sharing my world 10/16/17

If you had to move to a country besides the one you currently live in, where would you move and why? I almost moved to Turkey once. I thought about teaching English there, and everyone teaches English in places like Japan or Korea. I wanted to see Istanbul and be near Europe so Turkey sounded like a good fit (besides I had some Turkish friends at the time). But I decided against it for various reasons. I think if I were to move to a different country, it would have to be an English speaking country because my brain refuses to learn a different language. Dyscalculia working against me. So somewhere like Britain or Canada, possibly Australia, though I hear it’s difficult to actually *move* to any of these places without a job or a sponsor, and I have neither, so that’s kind of moot.

color palate

I lean towards warm colors

What color would you like your bedroom to be? I’ve thought about that before —  just a little bit — and usually settle on white or something pale. Not that we’ve had any money to do a serious makeover of the bedrooms (or anywhere else). Whenever we buy sheets, we go with something inexpensive and dark-ish, but the walls we stick with whatever’s there because who has money to paint the walls? Not us, that’s who. I’m not one for paintings because I tend not to buy things that don’t serve a purpose, but every once in awhile I’ll throw a picture up on the wall, and honestly, I don’t really give it much thought. I just put up stuff that I like, not what’s in or popular. I think if I were to give the bedroom some serious thought, I’d research what’s good for sleeping and calming the brain down because I only use my bedroom to sleep and store clothing. The clothes don’t care what color the walls are and my eyes don’t see what color the walls are after the lights go out, but I do have a night light for midnight bathroom runs, so maybe something that is calming in low light. I guess.

What makes you Happy? Make a list of things in your life that bring you joy.

My husband makes me happy, as do my pets (when they’re not being annoying). Playing video games is both calming and joy inducing. Reading can make me happy. I also enjoy watching videos. Happiness is not something I pursue… I’m content with being content.

What inspired you or what did you appreciate this past week?  Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.

I’ve still been pretty sick this past week. I didn’t get much done. I sent the scarf off that I finished. When the recipient receives it, I’ll post pictures (BTW, it’s hard to take pictures of a scarf… just so’s y’all know).  I’ve started on my next project, another shawl.  When that’s done, I’ll take pictures of it. But for today, I’m just gonna say I’m feeling a bit better. and hopefully I’ll have more to share next week.

I moved to Israel because I could. They would import me. Anywhere else, i’d have to figure out how to get there and what i would do after that. Sometimes, decisions are made by others … but I was never sorry.
