A piece of clothing from your younger childhood you still remember? I grew up in the late 70’s early 80’s when clothing was spectacular! Bell bottoms and unicorn shirts. Peace signs everywhere. Which segued (somehow) into prairie skirts and combat boots. The piece of clothing that came to mind when I read this question though is a kind of a corduroy overall skirt thingie my sister and I had — I guess they’re called jumpers? I dunno. Mine was kind of a grey-purple, and hers was pink? I think? They had had an applique rose on the bib and were tunic-y in shape. I miss corduroy. Anyway, I remember these because we used to love wearing them. I remember always fiddling with the clasps on the straps and the buttons on the sides. I had a weird affinity for overall clasps. I just thought they were neat. Anyway, babysitter stole them because they made great mini skirts for her (they were knee length on us). We had pretty crap babysitters. This same babysitter stole my mom’s wedding ring and other stuff too.
Irregardless of your physical fitness, coordination or agility: If you could be an athlete what would do do? Remember this is SYW, dreaming is always allowed. Even if I were in tip-top condition, I can’t think of a professional sport that I would want to participate in. Maybe long distance runner. Maybe. Possibly, I would pull a Forrest Gump and run across the country a few times. Just because. Though I’d walk. I’d just walk.
In a car would you rather drive or be a passenger? I’m such a control freak. I need to drive or I get edgy. I’m getting better at it in my old age, and Doug usually drives in town and on short trips. But when it comes to driving long distance or for any length of time on the highway, you can bet your buns that I’m in the driver’s seat because he puts the cruise control on and that just makes me twitch. I can’t deal with that. No! No! No! I am way too much of a control freak to let the car drive, even if it’s only controlling the speed. Get out! I’m driving. If driverless cars become ubiquitous in my lifetime, I don’t know how I’ll deal with that, really. I’ve tried using the cruise control, I really have. People keep telling me how much money I’ll save in gas if I do, but I can’t do it. I can’t. It just stresses me out too much. It literally makes my face twitch when I do. My whole body tenses up. Even thinking about giving control to the car is stress inducing… I… I’d better stop talking about this… ^_^
What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week? Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination. So, I know that I keep posting videos here, but this made me laugh so much. Yesterday I was watching one of my favorite Youtubers playing my favorite game, and he has this follower (Inigo) who will sing if you ask him to. Inigo isn’t the best singer in the world, but he is a funny singer. And Gopher’s reaction was pretty hysterical. I’ll start the video a little before that because the conversation before that is funny too — the whole video is funny actually — but you can skip to the last few minutes to just hear the song (which starts around the 42 minute mark).
It really had me in stitches. 🙂
