It’s that time of week again, and I’m still fighting off that stupid cold. Today, I’m just… exhausted. Like… struggling to stay awake exhausted. So why don’t I got to sleep? Because my dogs won’t let me. ^_^ My dog, Brandy, is the reason I’m awake right now. She woke me up at 7AM this morning for no particular reason that I could discern. She’s never done that before. Just put her two front feet on the bed near my face and yelped. It was weird. But here I am awake, and I have no energy at all. I’m sill all stuffy, achy, and can’t breathe, but my cough isn’t as bad, so… progress?
Anyway, here are the questions for this week, à la Melanie’s Share Your World. Enjoy!
What’s the most ironic thing you’ve ever witnessed? Hmm, that’s a toughie. I’ve witnessed a lot of ironic things in my time, but nothing specific comes to mind. Having said that, I sometimes have difficult defining what’s ironic. Even with this handy video to help me out:
It’s a bit dated but still amusing. 🙂 Anyway, I’m one of those people who often are like, Was that ironic? If so, why was that ironic? I dunno. It’s been explained to me many times before, and I’ve even had Aha! Now I get! it moments when it comes to irony, But those moments are fleeting, and still am befuddled about it. Maybe that’s ironic… I dunno.
Let’s talk turkey. Pro or con? If pro, which part do you enjoy most? Is it for Thanksgiving (American Style any way) only? I like turkey in all shapes and sizes. I like turkey bacon, turkey ham, turkey breast, turkey drumsticks. I’m all about turkey. I don’t eat turkey exclusively, but when it’s offered (in any way), I’ll eat it. I supposed that I prefer it sliced with gravy, but I’ll take it however it’s offered.
If you’d like, share one thing you wish you’d said to someone else, but now you’ll never have the chance. I tend to speak my mind. There are times when people have dropped out of my life and I wasn’t able to say goodbye, and I’ve had to suddenly and abruptly leave without telling people why, but that’s life I suppose. That’s all in the past though, so I’m okay with it. The past is the past.
What odd smell do you really enjoy? I like the smell of pickled things — sauerkraut, pickles, pickled beets, &c… I’m told that other people enjoy the taste but don’t like the smell. I don’t know why, but I like the smell. And the taste.
Thankful November….share a story or time when someone did something really great for you. Alternatively, share your gratitude moments during this past week. When my psycho ex went truly psycho, and I had to leave town in a hurry, I called a co-worker of mine that I barely knew. We’d met only once or twice before, and she’d never met him, but I’d talked about him, so she knew about my situation. When I explained what was going on, she opened her home to me and let me stay the night and most of the next day. I needed a place to stay until I could get to the bank and withdraw enough money to get a bus ticket out of town. She didn’t have to do that at all, but she did. The only reason I called her is because he didn’t know her. Many people make the mistake of calling their family or their best friends in these situations, and that is exactly who their soon-to-be exes will go to when they are looking for them. This co-worker of mine not only let me stay with her, but she drove me to the bank and bus station the next day. It’s been seven years, and I’ve long since forgotten her name, but I’ll never forget her kindness.
