So, dear reader, I ran errands with Doug today. Haven’t done that in a while. We even ate out at a restaurant. Red Robin. They have a burger there called a “Wedgie Burger” which is basically a burger that comes wrapped in lettuce leaves instead of a bun. It was interesting to eat. Not bad… I actually liked it. I would have preferred it on a plate with a knife and fork… but I’m okay eating with my hands too. Once in a while. Going out for errands *and* lunch? What’s gotten into me? ^_^
I also put a new battery in my Misfit to track my “steps” per day. A Misfit is like a discount Fitbit, and it’s okay. The only thing I dislike about it is that if I do any kind of knitting, or crocheting, it’s going to say that I did more exercise that I actually did. Just typing this blog has added “steps” to my day because it’s based on movement. And there’s a lot of wrist movement involved in knitting, crocheting, and typing. I could buy a pendant holder and wear it around my neck, which is what I did with my old one, but when we switched this one (because the old one wouldn’t sync to the phone) the pendant didn’t fit anymore. Ugh, we’ll see. I don’t actually recommend these to anyone unless they want an inexpensive exercise/sleep tracker. I mean. They do the job, and the lights are pretty. Doug likes his… but yeah. They’re okay. You get what you pay for.
Anyway, since the lady who was supposed to come and do my carpets didn’t show and basically ghosted on me, I’ve decided that I’m gonna do them my damned self. I started on the cat’s room. That’s right. Mister has his own room. Why? Because if we don’t feed him in a separate room divided by a baby gate, the dogs will eat his food and his poop. In our old house, his “room” was the laundry room, but in this house, he has the extra bedroom. Yesterday Doug and I went in there with a broom and a vacuum and we cleaned that rug good. Next room will be my room. Just as soon as my elbow stops hurting. >_< Baby steps y’all. Baby steps. ^_^
I also ordered Sweatin’ to the Oldies from Amazon. I used do this way back in the day when I was trying to lose my “baby weight” and figured… it doesn’t cost much so I’ll give it a try again. I ordered a few others too to mix it up — one is a “walking” DVD where you kind of walk in place to music, but it’s more than that. It’s hard to explain. I had those too back when I couldn’t go out walking for… reasons. And one is a *blush* belly dancing video. What? I’ve always wanted to learn. And it was only about $10. I might even be good at it. The reviews say it’s good for beginners. You never know! 😛 Anyway, Sweatin’ to the Oldies is the one I am looking forward to. I mean, it was always kind of fun to do. I haven’t heard much from Richard Simmons, but a quick internet search says he’s still alive (age 70). And from what I remember, the exercises weren’t *hard* and there were always alternatives for people (like me) who are way out of shape. Anyway, wish me luck with those. Don’t worry, dear reader, I won’t over exert myself. I dislike hospitals.
