I went to the grocery store this morning, y’all. All by myself and without too much anxiety. Yesterday I heard about this thing called cranberry butter that one can make in the crock pot. And I remembered that I do, indeed have a crock pot so that was the catalyst to get me out of the house in into the grocery store. Dear reader, I love cranberries. And I love fruit butters. And I don’t mind making my own fruit butter because they’re so darned easy to make. You know? So this morning, instead of doing what I usually do, which is ask Doug to get what I need on his way home, I totally went to the grocery store and bought cranberries and apple juice to make this cranberry butter. It’s cooking in the crock pot as I type this out. And I didn’t even stress out too much about the whole thing.
Okay, I may have bought a few more cranberries than I need for one recipe of cranberry butter. ^_^ I said I like cranberries, y’all, and if you don’t think I’ll eat them until I’m sick of them, you’ve got another think coming. I’ll make cranberry butter until I run out of cranberries. Don’t even think won’t. And I might have bought some cold press coffee because I’ve mentioned before that I didn’t like it when someone suggested I try it over making the egg coffee. But, you know what dear reader? That was the stuff I tried to make at home. So I bought some Starbucks cold press coffee just to see, and it’s… not bad. Pretty smooth actually. It’s not something I’d buy every day because it’s expensive, but yeah, it’s not as bad as the stuff I tried to make.
I guess if you’re new here, you might be wondering why going to the grocery store is a big deal, but anyone whose been here a while will know that I’ve been agoraphobic for nearly three years. Or is it over three years? Like, going to the grocery store — by myself and without anxiety — that’s a big thing. I am going to have to look up a recipe for the asparagus I bought though. It’s been a while since I’ve cooked asparagus, but I remember liking them, which is why I bought some.
