Cyanide and Happiness

I keep having all kinds of ideas of what to write here on my blog, but then I get here and… nothing. Don’t worry, dear reader. It’ll pass. It always does. Eventually. ^_^

*snicker* That was brilliant. EVERYONE experiences ‘writer’s block’ or what I call “Muse ennui” now and then. I buy the muse some espresso and kick her in the fanny, and we get on with things. Eventually. 😉 I said it elsewhere, but it bears repeating “Happy New Year!!”

I start posts…and work on them a little at a time. I often do not have the time to sit down and develop an idea in one long writing session.
When I am at work I might list ideas – random ones like laundry, cake, buying less disposable plastic, my niece, looking out for Snowdrops (the first sign of spring on the way), a friend I have not seen in years, my dream holiday, something I saw on the news, the older man who fell over in the road yesterday, thoughts or memories stirred by a song on the radio, the best sandwich I have ever eaten which I bought from the artisan bakery on the high street for a ridiculous amount of money.
When I have chance I start a post on one of those random subjects and see how truly enthusiastic I can be about them, and whether I really can create a post that is readable and enjoyable for readers.
I do try to make my posts light-hearted and easy to read on the whole, although every now and then I will write about one of the big challenges I have had – those are harder to write and take me a lot longer to develop.

Yep, that works for a lot of people. I’ve been doing this writing thing for a long time. A long time and I’ve tried the list thing. What I end up with is a list of things that I have no idea why I made a list about them. ^_^ hahahaha! Oh, it works… sometimes, but more often than not it’s just a jumbled mess. My mind just doesn’t do lists — even shopping lists. ^_^
