It’s been a day

A quick post from my phone… we had a wind storm here last night that knocked the power out for most of the area. We’ve been without power all day. No power equals no water because we’re on a well and septic system. The well needs power for the pump. I usually consider myself prepared for such emergencies, but I have to say, dear reader, this one caught me off guard. We are woefully unprepared for more than a day without water and/or power.

The power company said it could be a couple of days before everyone gets their power back. I don’t think they factored in the snow that hit us tonight. >_< Normally, I like snow. But I’m worried about my pipes.

Anyway, hopefully we’ll have power tomorrow, and things will be back to normal. I’ll get my emergency supplies game back on and we won’t be caught out again. Meanwhile, here’s a picture of the trees the wind blew over in our yard… I am soooooo glad they blew over the way they did… had it been in the other direction, well this would have been a different blog post…

:O !!! And I thought all the damned snow here was bad. Counting my blessings now I can tell you!! You also did a public service in reminding folks that it’s best to be prepared “in case” the power goes south. We rely on that so much, don’t we? You take care and stay warm!! Wow! Hey, silver lining (of a sort) aren’t you glad that you like to knit/crochet so much? I’m sure you have many woolies around to keep you and the ‘kids’ warm until the heat is back on! Take care!!
